Series IV: Cookbooks and Recipes, undated, 1934-2006


Scope and Contents

Series IV primarily consists of several cookbooks with handwritten recipes. Most of these appear to have entries made by multiple individuals, and may have been passed down from earlier generations. They include recipes for meat and vegetable dishes as well as many recipes for cakes and other desserts. One notebook, in folder 2/10, contains detailed drawings of decorative displays of platter arrangements, such as might have been used for festive events. The drawings are often accompanied by descriptions of platter contents. The notebook's author is not identified. It also includes some recipes for items featured on the platters, such as garnishes, hors d'oeuvres, and condiments.
