Scope and Content Note

This series contains documents on other German speaking communities in the 16th through 20th centuries. Documentation includes death registers, cemetery registers, tombstone photographs, birth registers, Mohelbuecher (circumcision registers), tax records, marriage registers, lists of Schutzjuden and privileged Jews, society record books, by-laws, memorial books, religious texts, correspondences, citizenship records concerning Jews, family records, transcriptions of documents, and government documents concerning Jews. These records come from many different Jewish communities in German speaking areas. This series also includes a document from 1937 from Koenigsberg concerning the Jewish question.
