Scope and Content Note
This collection contains a scrapbook compiled by Helena M. Kirstein pertaining to her involvement as a volunteer in the Romance of a People Pageant in 1933. The pageant was held at the Kingsbridge 258th Field Artillery Armory on Jerome Avenue and Kingsbridge Road in the Bronx, New York. The purpose of the pageant was to raise funds for the resettlement of German Jews in Palestine. The scrapbook contains news clippings reporting the event, sheet music and lyrics, a photogravure of the set and cast, thank you letter to volunteers from composers and the production director, Jacob Ben-Ami, and a program from the pageant.
