Abraham Jonas estate and legal papers
Scope and Content Note
The majority of the collection consists of Jonas' will and the papers related to settlement of his estate. Of interest is his exhortation to his children not to dispute his leaving the entire estate to his wife. Simeon P. Cohen was a witness to his will.
Also included are two legal items prepared by Jonas during his law practice, one of which is a petition of Mary Ann Myers Cowall for a divorce on the grounds of cruel and abusive treatment (1848).
