Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of papers relating to Marks' petition to have his father's estate divided. Israel Israel was a signatory of one of these papers.

Solomon and Hetty Marks petitioned Virginia for distribution of the share of the estate of Charity Hays Cohen belonging to Hetty Marks. The petition was filed by attorney Michael Isaacs, and contains a deed of sale of a Pennsylvania land parcel from Solomon Marks, Jr., to Augustine Regnaud; petition of Solomon and Hetty Marks for distribution of the latter's share of estate of Charity Hays Cohen; and papers relating to Myer Marks' petition for the division of his father's estate.
