Biographical Note

The Sephardic Home for the Aged was opened in 1951 as a 58-bed institution. In 1960 the institution moved to a new 173-bed facility and in 1974 the Jacob A. and Jeanne E. Barkey wing was built, adding 99 more beds to the institution.
