Biographical Note
Thayer S. Warshaw co-wrote Russian Refuseniks: Their Plight, Their Plea with Rabbi Harry A. Roth, the rabbi for Temple Emanuel in Andover, Massachusetts, of which Warshaw was a member for many years.
Warshaw was also proponent of teaching the Bible as an critical part of understanding literature, for which he helped craft standards for curriculum and guidelines for teachers. He was the co-author of The Bible as/in Literature with James S. Ackerman. Their book was also turned into a workshop at Indiana University with the same name.
