Scope and Contents

Subseries B: Audio-Visual Material contains audio and video recordings of various American Jewish Congress events, programs, and speeches delivered by prominent members of the American Jewish Congress. Subseries B has 455 audio recordings, 23 reel-to-reel recordings and 432 audiocassettes, and 77 videocassettes. A portion of this subseries was formerly in Series XVI: Microfilms, Tapes, and Records in the 2006 box and folder listing, but has been expanded to included audio reels, audiocassettes, and videocassettes from the new accretions. The audio material in Subseries B, both sound and video recordings, has been arranged chronologically with the available labeling recorded and housed in Bankers boxes. Both the audiocassettes and the videocassettes can be retrieved by the box. For additional audio recordings related to activities of the regional chapters of the American Jewish Congress, researchers should consult Series XI: Regional Chapters. Subseries B has material from Boxes 153-154, 762-769, 841, and 907-909.

200 hours of legacy audio-visual material have been digitized as part of the National Historical Publications and Records Commission funded project. The digitized recordings can be accessed by clicking on the titles listed in this series.
