Felix Frankfurter Papers
The collection consists of five letters and six articles. Of special interest is a letter to "Mr. Filene" (probably E.A. Filene), regarding a proposed mass meeting to be held in Boston in support of the nomination of Louis D. Brandeis for associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court (1916?).
Louis Brandeis Collection
Contains thirteen letters on a variety of subjects. Of interest are: a letter written to Walter Lippmann, referring to a talk with Felix Frankfurter regarding Brandeis' confirmation as a justice of the U.S. Supreme Court (1916); and a letter to Abraham H. Sakier regarding Brandeis' wish not to have his name connected with any fund-raising project for a university in Palestine (1930).
Records of the America-Israel Society
This collection consists of a secretary's minute book with copy of by laws, official minutes of meetings, reports, meeting agendas, proxies, correspondence and publications pertaining to non-sectarian sponsorship of educational and cultural projects both in Israel and the United States.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg Speech and Autographed Letter
The collection consists of an autographed letter from Ginsburg to Michael Feldberg, Executive Director of the American Jewish Historical Society, enclosing a speech she gave at Touro Synagogue in Newport, R.I. in celebration of the 350th anniversary of Jews in America. Ginsburg's speech summarized the careers of the following Jewish Supreme Court Justices: Louis D. Brandeis, Benjamin Cardozo, Felix Frankfurter, Arthur Goldberg, and Abe Fortas. A copy of the speech was reprinted in the catalog for the AJHS' exhibition "Greetings from Home.".
Shad Polier Papers
This collection contains the personal and professional papers of Shad Polier, including legal files from cases with which Polier was involved, particularly those concerning adoptions and civil liberties, articles and speeches by Polier, correspondence, and materials from several of the organizations with which Polier was affiliated, including the American Jewish Congress, the World Jewish Congress and the NAACP. These materials reflect his widespread participation with the civil liberties movement, equal rights and anti-discrimination law.
