Ottenheimer family

The Allan T. Hirsh, Jr. Family Trees Collection holds the family trees of the Hirsch and related families, compiled by Allan Hirsch.

Consists of a genealogical chart of the Schwab family and its collateral branches (the Lehman, Hirsch, Schwartz, Ottenheimer, and Johl families) and a postcard and brochure of the Schwab family business in Memphis, TN.

The Suzanne Schrag Collection holds papers of Suzanne (née Fuchs) and Paul Schrag, as well as papers of family members, especially Suzanne's parents and Paul's maternal uncle Nathan Sulzberger. Much of the collection focuses on the lives of family members, especially as documented in their extensive family correspondence. Prominent is also the unpublished writing of Paul Schrag and Nathan Sulzberger, notably the memoirs of Paul Schrag and short stories of Nathan Sulzberger. Some official documents, especially those pertaining to the education of Paul and Suzanne Schrag are also present, along with a few photographs, notes on genealogy, and other papers.

This collection consists primarily of the research material underlying Werner Frank's genealogical work, "Legacy: the saga of a German-Jewish German family across time and circumstance" (2003, Avotaynu Foundation). It contains correspondence with distant relatives and genealogical researchers, copies of archival documents, and family trees relating to the following German-Jewish families from Baden: Frank, Regensburger, Heinsheimer, Oppenheimer, Furth, Wimpfheimer, Eppinger, Ottenheimer, Wolf (paternal) and Weingartner, Gutmann, Herz, Blum, Geismar, Auerbach, Auerbacher, Uffenheimer, Günzberger, Weil (maternal).
