Reichsvereinigung der Juden in Deutschland

The Adolf Loebel Collection primarily documents the events of the Holocaust in Baden-Württemberg with an extensive amount of newspaper clippings. To a smaller extent it shows a few of the experiences of Adolf Loebel, head of the Jewish community in Heidelberg. In addition to the many newspaper clippings the collection contains circular letters and announcements, some correspondence, a list of Jews in Baden from 1940 and a few photographs.

The file contains various documents pertaining to the situation of the Jews in Nazi Germany, mostly regarding migration, and comprises eight folders.

This collection documents the work of the lawyer and head of the greater Jewish Community in Hamburg, Max Plaut, in his role as a family researcher in Israel between the years 1944 to 1950. It contains to a large extent the correspondence between Plaut and German Jews from Hamburg who were looking for family and friends who had gone missing during the Holocaust. The collection material covers list of Jews held in Theresienstadt, Lodz, Auschwitz and elsewhere. Also included is a small written documentation of the Plaut family as well as some files on restitution claims in the city of Hamburg.

TThe file contains various documents pertaining to the activity of the Reich Association of Jews in Germany (Reichsvereinigung der Juden in Deutschland) and comprises three folders.

This collection contains materials about the Reichsvertretung der deutschen Juden, a federation of Jewish organizations and regional and local Jewish communities, founded in 1933, that aimed to provide a unified voice for German Jewry in dealing with the Nazi authorities. It includes a significant amount of correspondence surrounding the formation of the Reichsvertretung, as well as articles, budgets, clippings, ephemera, leaflets, minutes, reports, and statistics.

This collection holds papers, correspondence and visual material of Benno and Aenne Schwabacher (née Dannenberg) and their ancestors. Prominent topics are Aenne and Benno Schwabacher's vacations, their emigration from Germany and their immigration to the USA. The papers in this collection include a vast amount of visual material (predominantly photos), official documents, most of which related to the Schwabacher’s emigration and immigration as well as quite lot of correspondence.

The Walter and Johanna Rischowsky Collection primarily contains documents collected by Walter Rischowsky stating rules and restrictions forced upon German Jews between 1941-1942, as well as documents on the emigration and deportation of German Jews. There is also a small amount of biographical information concerning Walter Rischowsky. The documents consist of official regulations from the Reichsvereinigung der Juden in Deutschland, and copies of memos of the Reichsvereinigung der Juden in Deutschland concerning meetings between their organization and the Zentralstelle für Jüdische Auswanderung.
