Correspondence of Ismar Elbogen with individuals, including Elias Auerbach, Julius Bab, Leo Baeck, Salo Baron, Markus Brann, Martin Buber, Umberto Cassuto, Ludwig Feuchtwanger, Ludwig Geiger, Robert Raphael Geis, Louis Ginzburg, Ignaz Goldziher, Max Gruenewald, Moritz Güdemann, Julius Guttmann, Bernhard Kahn, Mordechai Kaplan, Adolf Leschnitzer, Lily Montagu, Claude Montefiore, Adolph Oko, Paula Ollendorf, Bertha Pappenheim, Felix Perles, Koppel Pinson, Peter Reinhold, Julius Rosenwald, Cecil Roth, Caesar Seligmann, Selma Stern-Taeubler, Henrietta Szold, Hermann Vogelstein, and Stephen Wise.

The collection contains documents pertaining to the life and work of historian Ludwig Oelsner. Included in the collection is bound book of poetry containing 106 handwritten poems by Oelsner; a bound album containing university degrees, certificates, handwritten and signed letters by historian Leopold von Ranke, articles by Oelsner, articles about Oelsner's career, book reviews, obituaries, eulogies, and photograph of Oelsner on the cover; honorary doctoral diploma with seal from the University of Wrocław; and membership certificate of the Freies Deutsches Hochstift. The collection also contains three Red Cross letters between Anna Mottek in London and her brother-in-law Eugen Mottek in Berlin dated between February 1941 and January 1942.

The collection consists predominantly of correspondence between Sigmund A. Cohn and his parents, his letters to various public and private agencies in an unsuccesful attempt to get his parents out of Germany as well as correspondence related to obtain restitution. Included in the collection are genealogical papers, autobiographies of various family members, and documents related to Sigmund A. Cohn's studies and work.
