The Erna Katzenell collection consists of documents about Katzenell's life in hiding during the Second World War and her ultimate rescue. Amongst others, it includes documents about her rescuers, clippings, correspondence, photographs, and transcripts of interviews.

Greta Rapp Collection

Abstract

This collection documents the efforts of Greta Rapp to have Marie Louise Hensel recognized by Yad Vashem for her efforts to rescue the Jewish lawyer Hermann Reis and his family in 1942. Although the rescue attempt failed, Hensel was added to Yad Vashem’s list of the Righteous Among The Nations. Materials include correspondence, clippings, notes, a poem, a copy of the certificate awarded by Yad Vashem, and photographs of the medal of honor they awarded and the tree that was planted in honor of Marie Louise Hensel.

Leo Baeck Institute Jerusalem Correspondence

Abstract

The collection contains the correspondence of the Leo Baeck Institute Jerusalem from 1950 up until 2005 and comprises 42 folders. The file contains internal correspondence of the institute's staff, as well as correspondence with other individuals and institutions. The correspondence includes minutes of meetings, requests for support, applications for scholarships, and research inquiries. It also addresses topics such as book publishing, donations of archival materials, cooperation with other institutes, and current affairs.

This collection contains the personal and professional papers of historian and bibliographer Philip Friedman. These materials include correspondence with individuals and with organizations, newspaper clippings, subject files, manuscripts of works by Friedman and by others, and some of Friedman’s personal documents. These materials relate to Friedman’s work on the histories of various Jewish communities, particularly those in Poland, and his work gathering source documents about the Holocaust.
