Abstract

Collection consists primarily of personal and professional correspondence, and copies of speeches relating to Shapiro's activities as a lawyer and as Secretary of Public Welfare of the state of Pennsylvania (1955-59). It also contains correspondence reflecting Shapiro's involvement in Jewish communal affairs, the largest amount relating to the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, and the Federation of Jewish Agencies of Greater Philadelphia.

Abstract

This collection contains correspondence and minutes (including the minutes of the joint meetings with the Albert Einstein Medical Center, June, 1965 and Jan., 1966) relating to the administration and activities of the Hospital, a list of officers and memberships (1964-1969) and financial reports (1967 and 1969). Also included are annual reports of the hospital, as well as periodical publications. In addition there, is a copy of the Address at the Laying of the Corner-stone of the Lucien Moss Home for Incurables, 1899.
