B'nai B'rith. Leo Baeck Lodge No. 1531 (New York, N.Y.)

This collection contains materials relating to the Leo Baeck lodge, a New York lodge of the Jewish fraternal benevolent society B’nai B’rith. This lodge was founded by German-Jewish émigrés in 1944.

This collection holds the papers of publisher and rare book dealer Felix I. Kauffmann, and contains documents relating to the family publishing house, his military service in World War I, and membership in Jewish organizations. The collection includes some correspondence with Leo Baeck as well as other correspondence, official documents such as military, vital and legal papers, curricula vitae, newspaper clippings and articles, and other papers.

Lotte and Rudolf Urbach's personal papers and photographs, primarily letters of recommendation for Rudolf's work in the financial sector and family photographs streching back to the turn of the 20th century.
