Baruch-Auerbach'sche Waisen-Erziehungs-Anstalten für Jüdische Knaben und Mädchen (Berlin)

This collection documents the personal experience of Alexander Turney with a particular emphasis on his childhood in Berlin, his emigration to the United States, and his activities as a tango dancer later in life. Materials include photographs, correspondence, clippings, programs, limited materials on family history, and an oral history interview transcript.

Various materials pertaining mainly to Joshua Plaut’s father, Rabbi Walter H. Plaut, and to Joshua Plaut’s grandfather, Rabbi Jonas Plaut. In addition there are 11 homemade videos of reunions and celebrations of various members of the Plaut family. Included is also some family correspondence of Rabbi Walter Plaut and Hadassah Yanich Plaut, as well as some genealogical research into ancestors of the Yanich family.

This small collection consists of a wide variety of photocopied materials on the Plaut, Gumprich, Rosenthal, Wormser, and other families.
